So, I hope this post encourages just a few more people to tale an active role is her health.

PMS Woes

For women, PMS can wreak havoc on their lives for probably at least two weeks a month.  Researchers have found though that a diet rich in calcium and vitamin D can help decrease the risk of PMS.  Women should drink 1,200 mg of calcium and 400 IU of vitamin D per day.  Findings showed that PMS symptoms were decreased by 46 percent.

Help in blood pressure regulation

Yup, laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone.  One more reason to laugh?  Well, according to a Japanese study, listening to your favorite music or laughing for just one hour every other week can lower your blood pressure by five to six points in three months.  This has the positive effects of losing ten pounds.

Also, make sure that you get plenty of potassium in your diet because this also helps control the blood pressure.  Potatoes and oranges are two foods that are high in potassium.

Pistachios and your health

Here's some more information about something thought to be bad turning out to be good.

Research published in the British Journal of Nutrition found that pistachios have 5.9 percent fewer calories perviously thought.  People who eat the pistachios in shell also consume  about 41 percent less calories than those who buy them shelled.  Could be the work in shelling them that makes you eat a little less.
